A Special Thank You to Our Fire Departments To all the fire departments and firefighters serving Erath and Comanche Counties: We want to take a moment to say THANK YOU for everything you do for our communities, day and night. These extreme drought conditions have made an already difficult and dangerous job even more challenging. A single spark can quickly become a major fire, and while most of us are watching from a safe distance, you are the ones answering the call and heading toward the danger. Many of our local firefighters are volunteers. They leave their homes, families, jobs, meals, and beds at all hours to protect people they may not even know. Whether it's a grass fire, structure fire, vehicle accident, medical emergency, or another call for help, you are there when our communities need you most. Please know that your hard work, sacrifice, courage, and dedication do not go unnoticed.
